Since 2005, the Capitola Foundation has been raising funds to give back to the community that we live in and love.

Our Story

We provide hands-on and financial support to local groups annually, as well as considering donation requests that we receive. We work with the Capitola Police Department and its community partners, as well as other non-profits in the area. Our objective is to enhance public safety and community services through the promotion of community oriented policing and problem solving programs, crime reduction initiatives, community outreach and educational efforts within the City of Capitola and surrounding communities.

Capitola Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit. EIN: 20-2863836

We applaud the way that Captola has come together, and we are committed to continue to help with lowering the rate of crime in Capitola. We strive to support programs and organizations that help make Capitola safer.

  • We budget $12,500 annually for the Capitola Police Department to use for programs/initiatives determined by the department to be essential to providing the very best law enforcement for Capitola. Some examples are: (1) state of the art emergency lights and sirens for the department's motorcycles, (2) new tasers for all officers, (3) purchase and training of replacement canine when needed, (4) 30 new Glock pistols with barrel-mounted flashlights and holsters, (5) non polluting electric vehicles for VIPS use and traffic control and parking, and (6) selected outreach programs dealing with bicycle safety and equipment in order to keep Capitola's youth safe.
